Food safety is an important public issue, because the food safety influences human health directly. In September, there are several occurrence of tainted milk powder in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The SnaLu Group in China added the uneatable chemical compound melamine to the milk powder and exported the tainted milk powder to the world for several years. Malamine is a kind of chemical compound used in plastic dish. Eating the melamine contaminated food will cause the kidney disease.
Although China government had banned the sale of mild powder from SunLu Group, there maybe other kind of tainted food sold in our supermarket. For the consumers, they should be careful in gradient, origin and expired date of food. For the government, the officials should make the test strictly. In this way, I believe that it can ensure the food safety through the cooperation between public and government.

(2)Chinese New Year
Chinese New Year and spring festival is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. It is also the most special holiday different from western countries. According to tales and legends, the beginning of Chinese New Year started with the fight against a mythical beast called the Nian. People used firecracks to frighten the Nian and from then on , the Nian never came to village again.
The festival traditionally begins on the first day of the first lunar month in Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th. On the day before the new year my family always give our home a through cleaning to sweep away the bad luck of last year. At the eve of Chinese New Year, my uncle’s family, aunt’s family and my family will eat dinner including fish and new year cake together in my home to celebrate the coming of New Year. The first day of the new year, my brother and I will get the red packets containing cash from my parents and we always buy the firecrackers and set off these in the park. During the second day of the new year, my family always go to my grandmother’s home and eat lunch with her.

This is the best I can do. Maybe someone can improve on this.
