Does the FDA work for the safety of consumers, or to protect the corporations? Why?
Pənny Proud asked:
…would they deem using cloned animals & their offspring as being safe, when they’ve only been tested for SIX years? I thought it took an entire generation over to be able to determine that, which would be a minimum of 25 years.

And genetically modified/bio-engineered foods have only been in use for about 16 or so years (that we know of) which also is not long enough to know if they are safe.

So who does the FDA work for? The consumers or for profit?

Originally, the FDA was set up to protect the public. However, the Republicans have staffed the FDA with former, and future, corporate execs. to stymie the FDA and protect corporate interests. Just as they put corporate execs. in the Dept. of Interior to approve projects harmful to the environment.

The USDA and FDA have been corrupt for decades, neither party has done anything to change how they operate.
Congress will whine when corruption in one of these agencies hits the news, but as soon as the media forgets, so does Congress forget.

The large corporations have FDA in their pockets. That in itself wouldn’t be so disastrous were it not for the problem that the corporations also have the media in their pockets.
If you want to stay healthy, adopt a position of distrust of absolutely any decision from the FDA. Look to alternative health sites for information — that may save your life.

Oh your talking about the guys who can’t find a bad tomato. the guys who put fluoride in our drinking water so we would all be stupid. the guys who approved artificial sweeteners to eat our brains. I’m sure they have our best interest at heart.
